firewall (Kaspersky vs XP)

I was just wondering... if Kaspersky anti hacker is the firewall and if I
have the XP firewall turned on and there are no conflicts with both of them
on, then why do I usually hear that you can not run 2 firewalls at the same
time??

Probably because those giving advice fail to qualify with "usually" :)
The same is true about av reatime monitors. It's not a good idea to
have two running simultaneously because of conflicts. Yet, sometimes
with certain av pairs you hear of users getting away with it. BTW,
you can certainly have two firewalls active simultaneously if one is
external such as with a external firewall/router. It is even a good
idea for many to do this because of the extra features included in
software firewalls.
