Firewall in SP2 for WINXP

I hear there are a lot of problems with some software not working well with
the Firewall in SP2 for WINXP. My question is: If you already have another
firewall installed that works fine for you, cant you just TURN OFF the WINXP
Firewall and use the one you got, thus eliminating MOST of the problems that
the WINXP Firewall seems to have ?

What problems are that supposed to be?

Of course we're talking about problems *caused* by XPs IFC here, not "Super cool
expert user never cares about reading the manual as it is easier to blame the
software" problems, right?

One firewall is sufficient.
If you have a 3rd party firewall it is safe to turn off the Windows
firewall.

It is not so much problems as it is some applications require some
configuration:
