Firewall Causes System Pauses

My VCOM NetDefense Firewall is causing momentary annoying
pauses/stutters on my PC. This is especially noticeable while playing
videos and games. The pauses occur about every 2 seconds and last about
a second. As soon as I turn off the firewall the pauses stop, and then
the videos and games run smoothly. The Windows XP Firewall does not
cause any pauses. How can I correct this behavior?

Uninstall/reinstall the application. Contact the tech support for it for
help.
