Firetrust B9

I have just installed MS Beta AntiSpyware and it
has "found" a threat (The "report" from the MS app is
vague and does not identify the threats by name) which is
a "Possible Hosts File Hijack". My suspicion is that
this may actually be Firetrust's B9 or Mailwasher, both
of which make mods to the HOSTS file.

I haven't "fixed" the threat and won't as I'm also
running SpyBot S&D and Spyware Blaster and they haven't
shown up anything.

Anyone else seen anything on this?

I can't address the particular threat you describe, but I can say that your
HOSTS file should be set to read-only. That will alleviate any chance of
malware from modifying it.

As for SS&D and Spyware Blaster (which I use), they will all find things
that the others may not. I would probably "Allow" this with extreme
precaution and ensure you send the data to SpyNet. At least that is what I
would probably do if I didn't know exactly what the program was.
