Firefox 1.5 to launch this week with marketing blitz

Proof of this trend is here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/recommended.php

Note the plugging of the Paypal extension.

As a side note, nothing on that page is anything that I, for one, would
ever consider installing on my system.

There's also something fishy going on with ALL the extensions. I just
reformatted my disk and did a fresh install of everything. Lo and behold,
now when I go to both the Extension Room or the Extensions Mirror to
reinstall all my favorites, there are no longer links to many extensions
I use on a regular basis. The extensions are still there, and you can
find the pages if you know the exact name of the extension using Google,
but the LINKS to them have been taken down. We're talking about stuff
like DownloadWith and TabX.

texturizer.net is completely gone now. It looks to me like the corporate
will is already being expressed.

There's always Seamonkey if Firefox gets ruined.

Do you have a download link for the beta or is it only available for a
select group of people? I've looked for it at the Microsoft website,
but can't find it.

John,

I asked our MS guy and apparently they'd received it because they're
subscribers to the MSDN network. As you've discovered, that link is
closed down and apparently we didn't keep a .exe file in storage.

My apologies for putting out misleading information.

Don't sweat it - it was just an honest mistake. Thanks for clearing it up.

I kinda expected that might have something to do with MSDN.

Looking at that page, I too can recommend none of those extensions.
It seems that these extensions are paid links. No wonder there's nothing to
recommend.
