It doesn't seem have made it to all the mirrors yet. Sorry if this
post is redundant; if someone already posted, I overlooked it.

I'm downloading the zip package now and plan to just unzip it over my
current 0.9 install. If I run into anything weird doing that, I'll
post back.

Thanks!
I can't imagine however why the zip is 6137 KB while the exe is 4843 KB.
Shouldn't it be the other way around? :-\

I downloaded the setup file and ran that.. No problems with the
install, but I have found one side affect. One of the forums I
frequent which uses PHPBB2 will not let me log in at all. When I click
the login button on the forum, it just sits there and laughs at me and
does nothing. Well, ok, it doesn't really laugh at me, but I'm sure
it's mocking me somehow. ;-) Other than that, no settings were lost,
no bookmarks or anything were changed or lost.

Kind of brave of you to do that. From what I understand though,
practically all important info is stored in your profile, so there is no
reason to unzip the old one over the new program files, you might as well
start afresh and delete the old program files to avoid problems.

The only things I need to save are the mycroft plugins in
"searchplugins" (just copy over to the new searchplugin directory) and
the flash, shockwave plugins in the plugins directory (ditto).

I've found that as long as you install in the same location,
shockwave, flash etc will continue to function if you just copy the stuff
in the plugins directories over.

Thanks for the tip.

Unzipping over the old 0.9 seems to have worked fine. If it hadn't,
I would have deleted the application directory and started over, as
you say.

There was a bug which caused Flash not to work after importing 0.8
profile/settings to a new 0.9 install. It happened if the old
profile had 'Flash Click To View' installed, even if it was disabled.
I ended up having to start with completely new profile, and then
simply copying the plugins directory worked fine.

That's an extension I have no experience with. A quick google shows that
it alters your userContent.css and that could be the source of your
problem.

That might work too, though it means losing your bookmarks, passwords,
other customisations unless you manually port them over.

Could be. I saw some instructions (after I had just given up and
gone with a new profile) that left userContent.css intact, but I
don't know whether they worked.

I don't store passwords, and bookmarks copied over fine. All other
stuff, I redid all by hand. Each new release, I have had to start
over with a new profile for one reason or another. The reasons seem
to be getting less and less serious, though, a good sign for the
future of one-click upgrading.

That may not be because of 0.9. I'm still running 0.8 and I have the
same situation with a site that requires a userid/password. I have to
use I.E. to get into that site.
