Finding the wlan takes awful long time in Vista - Why?

Does anyone have any idea why my Vista can't find my WLAN? My Mac G5 find it
under a second, my laptop with XP the same but my Vista after 10 minutes...!
It reports a lot of WLANs in the area (4) I have search through the Vista
after any settings, no luck, tried to change the security, channels, keys etc
etc settings in my router (Linksys WRT54GS), it didn't help either. I'm
broadcasting the SSID. Any suggestions?

Do you have the latest drivers for the WiFi client device? Did you get them
from the vendor?

Do you have only one WiFi client manager running?

Check the WiFi connection Properties - Configure - Advanced tab, and make sure
that Power management is set to the highest level, to start.
