finding "my computer" very slow

When I click on "my computer" the flashlight comes up and searches for over a
minutes before showing all my drives. It didn't use to do this. Any ideas
what is causing this?

Try installing xp cd,exit the menu page,go to run,type:cmd In cmd type:
VERIFY ON Then type:Sfc /Scannow When its thru,10-15 min.,type:
CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart,type:EXIT Remove cd,restart computer.

I find this happens when I take my latop off the network at the office
without unmapping my network drives. My guess is that windows is waiting for
the network connections to time out before doing the refresh.
