Hi!

I'm having some difficulty in determining where to go and
how to download free PC fonts. I'm intertested in
obtaining a font identified as "Broadway," however,
whenever I search for free fonts, there's always a "catch"
that I have to "join" a particular website in order to get
the free fonts. Can anyone give me some advise/pointers
on how to obtain this font for free? (Is it possible?)

Thx!

Like the saying goes "There is no such thing as a free lunch". How bad
do you want what you are trying to get? Will you trade your e-mail
address? Your home address? Your credit card account?

If a font is commercially copyrighted by a vendor you won't find a legal
free copy anywhere. But there are loads of free fonts around the web,
and many are very close approximations of - virtually indistinguishable
from - wellknown popular commercial fonts.

The art and drafting communities and hobbyists share fonts fairly freely
as a labor of love. Careful googling should get you to some website
repositories of that sort. Some may ask for registration not to capture
your wallet but simply to keep track of who downloads and uploads - they
like to see people contribute as well as acquire fonts, in the spirit of
sharing. You can always go elsewhere when a site asks for money up
front. It's a lot like the icon-making hobby community.

Given the way e-mail addresses have become a "hot commodity" for the
spamming business, putting a spam trap in place is not only ethical, it
is practically a requirement too.
