Find full path name of previously opened document

Eric

(I got an error when posting this message, so I'm posting it again. Sorry if
this results in a duplicate.)

I'm using Word 2003.

I often work on multiple versions of a document. For example, I'll open
C:\...\filename.doc and save it as D:\...\filename.doc.

The problem is that Word's File Open list sometimes displays the full path
name and sometimes not, so I can't be sure which version of the document I'm
looking at unless I open it and check properties.

I've tried to right-click on the File Open list to see if I can find more
information, but nothing happens.

Is there any way to determine the full name of a document, including drive
and path, before opening it?

Thanks.

IIRC, the File Open dialog only fails to show the location when you are in
the default documents locations (as determined by Tools, Options, File
Locations Tab, User Documents setting).

If it helps, you should add the Web Address box to the Menu Bar in Word.
Right Click any Tool bar and select Customise. From the left column, select
WEB and from the righ column click and drag the Address box and drop it onto
the Menu bar to the right of Help. Then hover the cursor over the right hand
end of the Address box and click and drag it so that it fills the available
space up to just before the Max/Min/Close buttons. Then close the dialog.

The Address box with show the full path and filename of the open active
document.
