Find and replace section breaks

I have a couple of hundred documents with an average of 50 pages each that
use Section Break (Next Page) instead of manual Page Breaks.

I tried to perform a global find and replace using the coding for Page break
^b with a replace of ^m but it's not working. I get a message that says 0
replacements were made. If I try Find Next and then Replace, it will find
the section break but won't replace it with a manual page break.

Any thoughts as to what could be wrong?
I'm using XP and Word 2003

Thanks.

Replacing each section break (^b) with a manual page break (^m) should
definitely work. I don't know why it isn't working for you. I'm wondering if
it could be a bug... Have you installed the most recent updates for Word
2003?

I'm not sure because it's a work computer and updates are supposed to happen
automatically. Can you tell me if there is a way to check from my
application itself? And is there a specific url to visit to download updates
if they are missing.

I think I may have the answer. The files were generated as .docs from SAS
output. The programming from this may be causing the problem.

I tried inserting section breaks and replacing them with page breaks in a
blank Word doc and it worked fine so it must be something to do with the
output. Ugh.

Thank you for your help.
