Ok, i know there are several of these here but they just dont seem to sum
up... So heres my question.
Im a new Vista user. I used to have WinXP on all my computers and laptops. I
have a Hp laserjet 3050 printer usb attached to a desktop with win xp. i have
a laptop that has XP , both have firewalls disabled and both have their
workgroup the same. The laptop can print just fine wirelessly. I just
installed vista onto the laptop. workgroup is the same and when i go through
my network in vista i see the desktop, open it, and see the printer, when i
try to connect to the printer is says Printer Access Denied. HOW DO I FIX
IT"? THANKS!!

I have the same issue.

To resolve it, on your XP, run Setup Home Network (or Setup something
Network). You can find this under Accessories -> Communication.

Go through the wizard and restart the computer.

If this doesn't work, on your Vista's Network Connection, please have the
printer sharing set to On.

Have you installed the printer drivers on the Vista machine? Go through the
process of adding a network printer and when prompted, let it download the
drivers (if there are any).
