Filtering on originators NAME

Outlook 2003: Is it possible to create a rule which operates on the
originators stated name, as in: From: _this_bit_ <[email protected]> ?

I don't know anyone whose *name* contains Xanax, Cialis or Valium, but they
sure are sending me a heck of a lot of mail! (Which I'd love to filter out)

You can create a rule that scans he message header for these names. Isn't
your Junk E-mail Filter catching these already? They are filtered out for me
already with the setting to Low.

Isn't your Junk E-mail Filter catching these already?

I think they are being caught, but the junk mail filter is putting them
into my junk mail folder, where I have to delete them, and this is more
effort than these **** deserve. Insert your own epithet, and don't feel
restricted to four-lettered words!

These particular items are so obviously SPAM that I'd prefer to add a rule
to delete them permanantly, or at the very least mark them as read and then
delete them (giving the chance of recovering them from the trash).

The problem with looking for "Valium" in the entire header is that I can
conceivably receive email with "Valium" in the subject as I know people for
whom it is prescribed.

I've already asked about the ability to use Regular Expressions as part of
the rules matching process; with those I could search for a caseless match
on:
^from: .*(cialis|valium|xanax)
.... anywhere in the headers.

MailWasher allows me to do SPAM filtering with regular expressions, but
their definition of the "from" field is the same as Outlooks: just the
email address portion.

I suppose I'm wishing for the rules to implement "where the from field
contains specific words"

Wel I still see this as doubling your work; the JEF does its work properly
so make use of that. You can enable AutoArchive on that folder to
automatically delete them
