Hii Leon

1 open control panel

2 click on accessibility options

3 it opens accessibility options window

4 uncheck use filter keys

5 click on setting in right side of filter keys

6 uncheck use shortcut

This will disable the filter key

I'm on windows 2003 and I do not have an accessibility icon under control
panel. If you know of a more appropriate forum I'll go there.

I had to enable accessibility wizard in "add remove windows components" in
order to get the control panel option to be able to permanently disable
everything.

I am assuming this works.
Of course, I won't try it intentionally since I will have to reboot if it
does not.
That 8 second shift key is the most aggravating thing in computerdom.

I tried that several times ... there is NO accessibility options in the
control panel thats why i'm trying to find the wizard!

It's so annoying coz one of my progs is hot keyed to holding down the shift
key for comparrisons and it kicks it to the sticky key when i take too long
to ponder the comparison window. It totally sucks.
