Filter Address Book?

Is there a way to create and apply a filter to an address book?

I want to be able to filter it on categories, when using it to select
contacts.

If you have set up Categories, why not select the Category in Contacts and
do Actions-Create-New Message to Contact?
 
Thank you. I was not aware of that feature. It does what I need it to do.

(I'm using Windows XP Pro -SP3, with MS Office 2007 Pro.)
