Files wont open / No Error Msg

[Lost]

I am unable to open a .xls file, it is not Hidden ( I
Checked Windows-> Hide). It just does not open, no error
msg. Same result when opening from another Win2000
machine.

I rebooted computer & excel, but same result.

Any thoughts?

How are you trying to open it?
i.e. From within XL or Explorer?

Hi
not sure this will help but try the following:
goto 'Tools-Options-General " and uncheck "Ignore other Applications"
Exit Excel and try again

If this doesn't work try to re-register Excel

1. Close Excel first and
2. On the Windows Taskbar
2.1 Start>Run "excel.exe /unregserver"(no quotes)>OK.
2.2 Start>Run "excel.exe /regserver"(no quotes)>OK.

Any chance that it's open, just not in the visible window?

Check for the filename under that Window menu item.

(or even do a printpreview).

If it is off the screen, window|Arrange|tiled and resize the way you like it.
