EXCEL FILE NOT OPENING - DIRECTLY

We have six machines in our office.
There is one specific machine on which any excel file won't open directly,
i. e. if i double click on the file icon (which of course showing regular
excel icon) it won't open and error msg is shown that some dll library is
missing. I i open excel normally i. e. book1 and then open the file, it
opens.
If I take the same file on any other, excepting this one, machine it opens
there by double click.

what could be the error on the machine & suggest remedy for the same.

right click on the Start button and select Explore to open a Window explorer

The use this set of menu options.
Tools : Folder Options : File Types : XLS (or which ever excel files not
working)
Advance - Set To Default
