files will not open

I try to open word 2003 page. I choose a file, the page opens but the files
never loads. Help please

What on earth does this mean?
Can you explain *exactly* what you are doing and the results you get.
Are you opening a document from within Word?

I open a word file the page the program opens but the files I asked for does
not open.. I then close the the program and try it again and still nothing

It's like drawing teeth

Do I take it that you are trying to open a document by double clicking it in
Windows Explorer, rather than from the file menu in Word? Does the document
open if you attempt to open it from the file menu of Word? That being the
