Files/Setings Transfer doesn't see backup?

I had WinXP with sp2 on machine and did a Files and Settings Transfer Wizard.
Created USMT2.UNC directory with .dat file and status file. I then wiped
machine and loaded XP without sp2 as it was an issue. Now when I try to run
wizard I get the following error: the specified location does not contain any
data. Help..I need my settings. Anyone know what the issue is? Or how I
can extract the settings?
 
Umm, what do you mean by "wiped machine?" If you left your store
(USMT2.UNC) on the drive you installed to and reformatted that drive in the
process then hopefully you made a backup.
 
Sorry, I should have been more detailed..I have seperate partitions for data,
so the folder I saved the info to was on my data partition. I only wiped the
system partition.
