Files Rescue

I

Isabel

I've finally installed the master and slave HDD and they
are recognized in the BIOS and in the screen am able to
see two Disks C: and I:
Unfortunately, the one containing my files in the slave
disk (letter C:) for which I've no access, as everytime i
try to open it, a window appears saying that the C: drive
needs to be formatted and as far as I understand that
means that all my files and info will be lost. I change
HDD from slave to master but it says that there is an
error there and asks for the boot disk. My XP disk is also
my boot disk and if I try to repair Windows XP
installation it asks for a password I've never entered.

How can I rescue my files from that C: unformatted drive ?

Thanks. Tried pcinspector, downloaded it, and when i
started working with it instructing where to look for the
files to be recovered, the following message appeared:
Division by zero. Accept ?; no other choice allowed by to
accept it and then a new window said "On device fixed disk
# 2, which is the one in trouble.

Do you have any idea of the meaning of that message
(Division by zero?)
