Files on PC not backed up

Hi, I have a Windows 2000 server running NTBackup as a
scheduled service for backup routines.

All files are backed up Ok except for the drive mappings
relating to a different computer (ie not on the server).
The computer concerned is a Win98 workstation.

I can see the drive correctly through windows explorer
when logged in as administrator on the server prior to the
scheduled task commencing, and the scheduled task runs
using administrator profile. However when I go back to
explorer after the scheduled task runs there is an X over
the Drive that refreshes fine when clicked on.

At a bit of a loss for this one, any help greatly
appreciated.

But why can't it use a standard drive mapping? The people
administering this server are completely computer
illiterate so it would be easier to fix this issue rather
than create additional problems in another area.

For administration reasons it is a lot quicker to map a
new drive and modify the backup job than worry about
directory replication/synchronisation...
