~ files on my HDD

Walter

I am getting files on my HDD that are named "~" and that
is it. No extension, no file info, and windows does not
know how to open them. The files are located in the
machines different users "My Documents" folders. The files
are of different sizes, 228k, 178k, etc.. When I open them
with word, they are just a bunch of boxes. Any idea what
these may be from? Thanks, Walter

The tilde (~) is a result of this patch:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/330994/default.asp

The file is created when certain changes are made to your address book.
There is no resolution, yet.
