when i run windows media player it says that cpuin32.dll and mplapx.ll
can't be loaded and can not be found. Then it comes up with a force
quit thing asking if i want to send the stuff the microsoft. Any
suggestions on why this happened and how to fix it?

You should be able to tackle this a couple of ways I think.

A) Add Remove Programs and remove/reinstall it.
B) Start->Run->"cmd"->sfc /scannow

I tried the "Start->Run->"cmd"->sfc /scannow" but that didn't work.
When I go to add/remove it isnt an option to add/remove and nowhere
else do I see a add/remove(in start menu or in program) When I use
divx player 2.1 the same thing happens.

It might be worth going to
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en
looking in Windows Media, on the left, and downloading the more recent
Windows Media Player 9 (version for XP - second on the page). I suspect
something got at cross purposes when you downloaded that divx player -
get just their codec to work with WMP 9

It had this error before i installed the divx player also. I installed
the divx player to see if it woul play the movies when window media
player wouldn't
