Files Locking

I seem to have a strange problem...file are being locked by windows
making the impossible to delete unless I reboot the machine. The is
no pattern to the locking it could be a doc file or an exe file and it
could be a file that I have not used.

Any suggestions?

I am not sure what we are dealing with here but it could be a malware/virus.

What all anti-spyware/antivirus softwares do you use??

Here's Several ways how you can delete an "undeletable" file. Follow
these steps:

Start | Run | Cmd | Navigate to the directory; del <filename>

Boot into Safe Mode; try to delete the file

or

1. Close all open programs.
2. Open a command prompt.
3. Right-click the taskbar, and select Task Manager.
4. On the Processes tab, select Explorer.exe, and click the End
Process button.
5. Minimize Task Manager, but don't close it.
6. At the command prompt, use the Delete command to remove the file,
and close the command prompt.
7. In Task Manager, go to File | New Task (Run).
8. In the Create New Task dialog box, enter Explorer.exe, and click OK.
9. Close Task Manager.

So I did as you suggested and downloaded WhoLockedMe. When a file
loced up I ran it and got the following

Oh also did as you suggested

1.Close all programs....(etc)

and got

c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop>del "C:\Documents and

The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another
process.

at the cmd window

There is no need to boot in safe mode, if I reboot regularly I can
delete the file

A few OTHER THINGS, Ran my anti virus spyware and it found nothing .
I also shut it down but the file reamined locked

Finally I did find a partial solution I downloaded UNLOCKER and when I
try to unlock a file it says "No Locking Handle Found" what should I
do. I push delete and it deletes it. HOWEVER THIS IS NOT NORMAL
WINDOWS BEHAVIOR AND I WOULD LIKE TO CORRECT IT
