I am using Win XP Home with SP2, updated from MS site with updates. I also
had at some point Faronics DeepFreeze installed and later uninstalled upon
expire. At some point (possibly after next Win update) my PC started show
persistant problem: ANY files, downloads, program preferences and settings
saved during last session in any folder on any (non-removable) drive
disappear after regular system reboot. System returns every time to the same
"frozen" drive content. SysInternals Process Explorer shows NO components of
DeepFreeze present at any time. I don't recall an XP Restore Point, where it
works normally. I didn't perform backups as of yet.
Apart from restore / backup advice, how I can find a root cause and fix it?
How and what settings of Win Register to restore? Obviously, drive catalogs
are not updated properly anymore.
