FILES DELETED, any way to get them back?

Hi, I had a folder full of recorded wav files that I
accidentally deleted, there was too much for recycle bin
to hold to they are completely deleted supposedly, system
restore was turned off. I'm working on a toshiba laptop
if that makes any difference. I was just wondering if
there is ANY WAY to get these files back.. they were a
compilation of almost 2 years worth of work and I did not
have them backed up unfortunatly. If anyone could please
help or at least tell me if it is possible to recover the
files it would save my life. Thanks in advance

You may try a recovery application, such as 'Recover my files'. Use Google search to locate them for downloading

Do nothing more on the laptop! You can try a recovery program like
Ontrack Easy Recovery Pro or some other undelete type of program. Do
not install any program on the laptop! You need a program that can run
from a floppy outside of the operating system. Writing anything to the
laptop's hard drive may destroy your files. If you are not skilled in
data recovery or don't have another machine available for downloading
programs, etc., take the laptop to a good local repair shop (not a
BestBuy or CompUSA type of store) and see if they can recover the data.
If they can't, you can contact a professional data recovery firm such
as DriveSavers (www.drivesavers.com). DriveSavers is highly regarded in
the tech industry, but their services are not inexpensive, with
recovery usually starting around $500.

Good luck,

hey, thanks for the advice. I downloaded a program to try
to save the files before I read your last post. It was
put onto the hard drive but not the part where the
deleted files are located, will this ruin my chances of
getting them back? The sample program found the missing
files but can only show the code and will not let me
preview the accual files without buying them back. Since
I dont know if it will work I dont know if I should spend
the money.
