I've got the problem (don't remember when it occurs) with
file types and applications icons.

For exapmple, in Start/Program Files icon for Microsoft
Word looks like icon for unknown .exe or .com file.

Another exapmle - icons for files in .xls format are
displayed in Explorer like icons for unknown file types.
However, these "unknown" files are automatically opened
with correct application (Excel)

This problem does not influence system stability or
performance, but brings much inconvinience in life.

Thank you for support!

Try 1) Right click icon find target will work for you.
Change icon will too, hopefully if not, application icon
is somewhere in the folders related to application &
locateable with browse.
Or if this is too tedious, in Microsoft's Tweak UI for XP
which you can find via search, one of the options is icon
repair which may do it. If you resort to this Tweak, I
suggest you set a recovery/restore cause something in
Tweak messed up my display.
Cheers to you if you are Artem Barry.
