On 2/13/06 I used the file and transfer option to copy my c drive. Recently I
am getting amessage that the cd rom (DVD reader-external) can not be use due
to a driver issue.

Question - If I use the files from 2/13/06 to restore (which the dvd cdrom
was working perfectly then), will it overwrite the word docs that have been
updated since 2/13/06 and the other data files as well?

Please let me know ASAP.

Very likely they will be gone. Try a System Restore from your harddrive
to a couple of days back before the problem started. You can go back up
to 90 days.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.

Thanks - One more q, please. If I use system restore (which I have an it
says nothing was restored) and go back further I notice that (EX I have
installed ipod software. If I go back to that point, will I loose that
install?
