files and settings transfer

I just put a computer together and am trying to install a
new hdd I have my new hdd set as master and old hdd set
as slave how do I transfer my files and settings from old
hdd to new hdd. help!!!!!!!!!!

You will need to boot up the 'old' operating system and insert the XP CD

Do not install XP, but choose to run the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. Allow this to create the file; it may be huge all depends on how many files and how much data has been created by you - how many MP3s have you scuked off Napster buddies etc

Once this is done, boot back into XP and run the wizard from within XP toi import the file you just created.
