Files and Settings Transfer issue

Hi,

I used the files and settings transfer utilitiy to take back-up of my data
including outlook pst files before reformating and installation of WinXP Pro
SP2. I am able to restore all the data except for the pst files.

The restoration process does not give any errors. How can I look find out
what's going wrong? Is there a way to peep into the .DAT files which this
utility created to see where those files are stored (it created 4 .DAT files
of 1.99 GB each)? The worst part is that the original data is not availalbe
anymore due to formating of the hard disk.

I need help badly....

Thanks,
Atul

Firstly, don't overlook the possibility that the .pst file IS being restored,
but Outlook is acting awkward. Sometimes Outlook may use the wrong .pst
file, or may not recognise sections like the 'Contacts' folder if the .pst
has been moved.

Hi Ian:

I have checked all possible places for the PSTs but it looks like the PSTs
(applicaton data\microsoft\outlook) are not getting resotred! There are two
back-up PSTs in my "My Documents" which are getting restored and they are 5
months old, but the current ones in use.
