Filenames missing in thumbnail/filmstrip mode

Hi, everyone. I hope I can explain this so someone understands it. I have 2
folders (My Pictures, and one of its sub-folders) that do not provide the
filename associated with the icons/thumbnails in those foldes when the folder
is set to filmstrip or thumbnail mode. The info _is_ displayed when I select
tiles, icons, list, or details. It's not really serious, just annoying. I
update Norton Anti-Virus weekly and scan for viruses daily (never found
anything). Any ideas?

Addendum:

I tried the trick where you press SHIFT when selecting thumbnail mode. It
worked for the sub-folder, but not for "My Pictures". Not sure if that's
relevant.

Further addendum:

I tried pressing SHIFT when opening "My Pictures" and that seemed to do
the trick? Who the hell came up with this 'feature'? The most un-intuitive
thing I've ever heard!
