Filename and Path

Guest

In Word 2003 there was an autotext option to insert filename and path into a
document. I haven't been able to find that in 2007. Does anyone have any
idea where it is?
Thanks

AutoText entries are part of the QuickParts Building Blocks.

I understand that, what I don't understand is how to create a building block
that will put in the filename and path where I want it in a document. Can
you help??

If you haven't imported these AutoText entries from a previous version of
Word (via Normal.dot) then you'll have to create them from scratch using
whatever is the current equivalent of Insert | Field, then saving as
AutoText.

Open your Quick Parts drop down and select Field. From the Categories
select Document Information, then select Filename and in the Field
Options section turn on "Add path to filename".

Once you've added the field in a document, select it and under the
Quick Parts drop down select "Save selection to Quick Part Gallery".
