After transferring an Access 2002 database via PC
Anywhere, the database won't open. I am getting error 3343.
(unrecognized database format C:////MasterDB.{D})

Also the recieving computer, with Access 2002 was set up
with a Access 2000 default, so the database was recieved
under that foremat. I changed the default to 2002, but too
late.

Any ideas how to open this.... it is over 1gb so it is
hard to transfer again.

Did you compact the database before attempting the transfer? That would
reduce the size of the database, often dramatically.

My guess is that the message indicates that the database is corrupted. While
you may possibly save it, it is probably better to transfer it again.

Leaving the format as an Access 2000 database is necessary if you need to
read it with Access 2000 machines.

Lastly, PCAnywhere is not a particularly good solution if there is any
chance of a data packet being dropped. Using asp pages or Terminal Services
(such as Citrix or Terminal Server) will ensure that a dropped packet will
not corrupt the database. If you don't need a live connection to the data
source for updating data, I suggest using FTP to transfer the database.

That "{D}" on the end means that PC Anywhere did not successfully complete
the transfer. I'm afraid you're going to have to send it again.
