disk or network error

i was working in an access database that is saved on our server. i think
that my wireless connection was in and out and i was recieveing several "disk
or network error" messages. now i am trying to open the database and i am
recieveing the unrecognizable format error #3343. does this mean that the
file is corrupted? if so can i recover it.

even when i tried to open the file from a backup cd i was given this
message. i have also tried to open it on other computers with other versions
of Access. the file is in access 2000 format and i am working with access
2003.

Almost certainly so, unfortunately. Access is VERY sensitive to
network noise, and many folks have reported that using a
frontend-backend connection across a wireless network (which is often
less stable than a wired one) can lead to corruption.

See http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm for symptoms,
cures and references on corruption.

That's alarming. Check out Tony's site to see if there are solutions
available... one thing to check is that your SYSTEM.MDW security file
might be corrupt as well (or instead!)
