File that won't go away!

I downloaded a .zip file off the net that contained a file named:
..ee2k1. (zero kb size) .....and now I can't get rid of it!

When I try to delete using windows it gives me an error:
Cannot Delete File: Cannot read from the source file or disk.
Trying to rename it gives the same error.

....and I've tried getting rid of it in DOS - via Command Prompt:
delete just plain fails.
attrib shows it as a hidden, system and archive file,
but won't let me change any of those attributes.
rmdir on the directory it's in (on it's own) fails 'cos it ain't empty.

I've also tried saving over the file with Notepad, but it just saves as:
..ee2k1

The stange thing is, it lets me delete either file at this point, but then
won't let me delete the second one, and when I refresh the folder,
regardless of which I delete, the filename is back to:
..ee2k1.

Can anyone help me get rid off this annoying little blip?

Hi

Can you rename it at a command prompt and then delete it? Failing that, try
deleting it in Safe Mode.

Did you try

rmdir /S <directory>
