File System Corrupt

Attempted re-installation from Win XP Home after computer
messing up. Error File System Corrupt: AMSINT.SYS to
C:\$WIN_NT$.~BT.
AMSINT.SYS. Dta Error- System redundancy check?
Any ideas how to fix and reload?
 
I don't know what prior messing up was, but this message
might indicate hard disk problems. Download your hard
drive manufactor's diagnostic utility and run all tests
