File structuring

Each time while using music editing software, I need to access the files
which are buried deep within my file structure, perhaps 6 or seven clicks.
Is it possible that once the required folder is opened that I can stop it
reverting to 'My Documents' each time I wish to retrieve another file.
My gratitude if you can solve this annoying problem.

And that option is not available from within the program you are using - set
default folder?
