file sharing Win95 to XP

I've set up a wired network w/ my 3 home PCs. Base
station has windows XP. All works well, except my old
win95 PC cannot share files or printers. That PC wants
a "network password" when starting. Can win95 be made to
share files on this network?

yes, you will need to set up a user account on the 95 machine with a name and password. log on to the computer with that account and you will get access to the network.

All versions of Windows, including win95 and XP, can network with each
other.

If you cancel the "network password" prompt, win95 won't be able to
access the other computers on the network. Instead, follow these
steps to prevent the prompt from appearing:

1. Go to Control Panel | Network.
2. Set the primary network logon to Windows Logon.
3. Reboot.
4. Log on with a user name and no password.

After that, it won't ask for a logon again, and it will be able to
access the network.
