Dear All,

Mz problem is that I have a LAN with several XP Home PC-
s. Most of them has shared folders and printer. Until
recently everything has gone well, but in the last days I
realized that I cannot connect to the shared folder on
the way My Networks -> Workgroup Computer -> Computer
(eg. Server) -> Shares, because when I select the Server
computer I got an Access Denied error. But if I one a new
window, and I point to an exact share eg. \\Server\docs
then it works fine, and I can also print to shared
printers.

This symptome concerns only to a few PC at the moment,
and the difference between them is that the effected PC
already downloaded the new Windows/Automatic Updater v5
application. Those that still have the old one works
fine, can be browsed perfectly.

Firewall is off an all PC, SP2 in not installed yet as it
is not exist in Hungarian yet.

Any idea? Temporarly I switched off the automatic update
on all PCs in order to avoid more trouble, but there is
still a trouble that I cannot access some shares easily
on some PC.

Thanks,
Zoltan

I just bought a new laptop and am encountering similar
problem. Old laptop was networked to desktop
through "MSHOME" default workgroup.

I ran MS Update on both machines before trying to connect
them and I now get "MSHOME is not accessible... "
Indicates I don't have authorization. These are both
home/office computers and I have admin privileges on both.

Sounds to me like Billy Boy struck again! ARGGHHH!!!

I am basically getting the same error and I to have v5 of windows update w/o
SP2 installed. However, my problem actually started before v5 was released.
I cannot connect to shared drives or printers.

PLEASE HELP
