File Sharing Problem

Looking for some help / advice. I have a small network - 2 running XP Home
and one running Win98/SE. I can share files between all ok and all are
allowed to edit and save. Problem is that i am unable to block simultaneous
access - I don't want two people editing the same file at the same time

Don't give anyone permission to use the file. Create a bat or script file
that calls the CACLS utility to grant permission to the user, and then open
the file, waiting till close to remove permission.
