i own a Linksys WRT54GS Ver. 6. I was told by linksys that sharing files
across this router isn't possible at all. I too have 4 computers, 2 windows
xps, 1 powermac G5, and an xbox360, all tied in together with the router
wirelessly. The xp machines are 1, a desktop old celeron 667mhz. It runs
flawlessly across the network and speedy since we got Registry Fix. I was
told by Msn that reg fix programs aren't recommended. Doesn't Microsoft make
their own reg fix program, Defender or One Stop? Anywho, I'd like to be able
to share files between them. I have permissions set across both xp machines
properly, but still can't share files. Maybe linksys was right. I upgraded
from an old 'B' router to a 'G' router....before the holidays.
If this is possible, how? I went into my network places, and tried to add
one, but none show up on the list of available machines, even though I've
enabled them and created network places on all of them.
