File Sharing in a Workgroup

I have a small 10 person network, and using 1 PC as a storage device for
everyone. This Storage PC has Win XP Pro on it. I want to share 2 folders
with the group of users on this network. However, one of the 2 folders, I
only want 3 people to be able to access. At present everyone can see the
group folder, but they can all see the other folder that I only want 3 people
to see. I have tried premissions, but it seems to only see the users of this
PC, and not the users on the workgroup. Can anyone help?

try this:

let say you only want users a, b and c to see the limited folder
1. create two user groups on the file sharing XP Pro, grpx and grpy ( or
whatever)
2 create user IDs that corresponds to the 10 users and get them to set the
password to the same as the one they use at their own PC
3 for the users a, b, c , you make them belong to grpx, the rest in grpy
4 for the limited folder to be accessed and seen by grpx (users a, b,c),
set security so only administrators of the XP pro PC and grpx has
access, removing everyone
set share permission to allow only again grpx and administrators,
removing everyone
5 for the folder to be accessed by both groups
set security and share permission accordingly for grpx and grpb

The above assumes none of the other 7 people have access to administrator
accounts with same name and password as those in the file sharing PC

This has the advantage of keeping the security list and share list small and
make it easy to change access
