I am using Windows XP Home Edition with SP2. Recently, I tried to use the
Help Index from the Start\Help panel of XP. The Index is no longer
available. I went to the KB and found KB 899296. I followed the
instructions and it did not restore the Index. Since I have an OEM version
of XP, Microsoft will not help. Also, I have tried to search for files and
it is not working correctly. For example, when I put in a wild card (e.g.
*.mdb) to search the entire hard drive, it will return with no files found
within 0.5 seconds. Normally I watched it as it went through the entire hard
drive.
Can you give me any help on these two items?
