file permission errors

keep getting permission errors when trying to save a file
created on an xp machine to NT server. File subsequently
being worked on win 98 operating system when error
happens. Keep having to give file nw name to save it.
 
This sound as if you have been granted write but
not delete/modify on the system where this is stored.
