File/Open - show details: date, sizre, etc

When I choose "open", I'd like the dialog box to show "details" by default
and preferably I'd like the columns from left to right to be:
file name
date
size
type of file

I'd like this to be the case whenever I choose File/open from any
application

Currently the default is shoe files with no details

You cannot save customizations for these dialog boxes.
