file names changed color

After i did a disk cleanup and a defrag and a spyware scan some of my file
names are now black and some of the file names are blue. Everything seems
to work OK with the files. Why did the files names change color? Can
anybody help me. They used to be all black in color-no blue file names!
What can I do to get them back to black or does it not matter.
Thank you.

blue color means that the files are compressed by windows. that happens
when in Disk Cleanup is ticked option "Compress old files".
it wont harm your system, it's just space saving option.
anyway if you want filenames in black colour again here is one option:
go to Control panel>Folder Options>View then untick option "Show encrypted
or compressed NTFS files in colour"

Ivan,
Thanks that does explain the color change. However can I De-Compress the
drive to get the colors back? Will all the files work fine as they are-blue
and black file names-compressed or not compressed. On your expertise should
I even be concerned about this issue?

everything will work fine. blue files are compressed, and are blue only
when compressed (by windows). windows compresses them when they arent
acessed in a while, default is 50 days. they can decompressed manually and
then they will be black again. if you aren't advanced user I suggest you
dont do that. afterall you dont have to be concerned about that....it is
normal windows function. you can stop windows to compress files simply by
unticking option "Compress old files" in Disk Cleanup.

If you want to play a little with uncompressing look here:
