I just got a new computer with Windows XP. I have experience with Windows 3.1, 95, and ME, but I can'
find file manager, sometimes known as winfile, in Windows XP. If it doesn't exist in XP, what will fulfill thos
functions in XP? Thanks for any help you can give.

You're looking for Windows Explorer. Start|All Programs|Accessories.

It hasn't existed in any version of Windows, since 3.x. But the
old version can still be used

what will fulfill those functions in XP?

The same thing that fulfilled those functions (and much better
than winfile ever did) in Windows 95, 98, and Me: Windows
Explorer/MyComputer.

There are also several third-party choices with enhanced
capabilities, such as PowerDesk.
