I have a couple users that are having problems accessing the File Locations
Tab when you go to Tools | Options. The tab is greyed out, you can't click
on it or see any information under that tab. I have already tried repairing
Office by going through the Control Panel, repairing by using Detect and
Repair from the Help Tab in Word and I have also uninstalled and re-installed
Office, nothing has fixed this problem. Please let me know if there is a
registry fix or any other type of fix for this. Thanks in Advance.

Herb,
I followed your suggestions. I dumped the registry and I also renamed the
Normal.dot, neither of those fixes worked. Wondering if you had any more
ideas as to what could be causing this problem. The thing that get's me is
that an uninstall and a re-install of the program didn't work, and that was
the last resort to this problem. Could there be anything with Group Policy
that is making this happen? Thanks for your help, please keep me updated.

Yes. It could be a policy issue. Missing tabs *usually* signal registry
corruption. I can imagine a few scenarios where a [usually misguided]
sysadmin might want to restrict changes to file locations (and deliberate
changes like this might even be classified as "registry corruption" by some
users). Is there someone you can talk to?

I have the fix for this problem. It's a registry key setting that that needs
to be set to false.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\General]
"HidePathInAlerts"=dword:00000000
