Hi,
This is typically caused by the "security protocol" called SMB. This is
established
by the error message not identifying the User that has the file in use.
We can look in the event viewer for ID 3034 and the source Mrxsmb. The
current release of this file is
Date Time Version Size File name
------------------------------------------------------
19-Apr-2004 23:04 5.0.2195.6924 408,752 Mrxsmb.sys
19-Apr-2004 23:03 5.0.2195.6924 88,624 Mup.sys
19-Apr-2004 23:04 5.0.2195.6924 169,936 Rdbss.sys
This article contains text for the most recent issues with SMB. I am
focusing on the File types specifically
for Windows 2000. It is always best to have the most current versions
available for this issue.
To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support
Services to obtain the hotfix. For a complete list of Microsoft Product
Support Services phone numbers and information about support costs, visit
