Recently, I've noticed some sort of corruption in my icons. For certain
filetypes, specifically .xls, .mdb, .doc and .pdf, the icon does not appear
correctly on the desktop or in explorer windows. Instead, the icon seems to
be the "default" icon - the one with the terminal window with three dots in
it. Other extensions such as .txt., .wmv and .zip are unaffected.
This is purely a cosmetic issue. Double-clicking on the file summons the
right program to open it.
I've tried resetting the associated program via the Folder Options menu, but
this had no effect.
Any suggestions welcome.
